Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is one of the most peaceful spots in Las Vegas thanks to lakes, greenery, and lots of wildlife such as northern flickers, songbirds, roadrunners, ducks, Cooper’s hawks, burrowing owls—even peacocks. It’s perfect for a gentle stroll or just sitting and enjoying the lakes and scenery.
Renee Ballenger made a quick stop at Floyd Lamb Park on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 to see if she could spot any fall color there. She had just visited Mount Charleston, where the aspens were peaking up by Lee Canyon Ski Resort.
Not surprisingly, due to the 100+ degree weather in Las Vegas lasting into October, most of the trees were still green. A few trees had some past peak leaves or maroon color, but the majority of trees in the park had not started yet.
When the cottonwoods and other trees here put on their fall show, it’s quite the sight, one that is a surprise to a lot of visitors who don’t expect to see fall color in the Southern Nevada desert.
You can view a fall color photo of Floyd Lamb Park from a previous year on the City of Las Vegas web page. The city oversees the park operations.
Our best guess is that color will appear at Floyd Lamb Park between October 24 and November 10, 2024. Meanwhile, enjoy the flowers still blooming in this Southern Nevada retreat. Â Â
