The cottonwoods in Yerington, Nevada and the surrounding Mason Valley are sporting some beautiful colors in many spots. Most are At Peak, although a small number are Past Peak while others are still green. That’s what landscape photographer Patrick Wilkes found on his visit to Yerington on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Cottonwood color isn’t going to last much longer in Northern Nevada, so this is a great weekend to get out there and enjoy the last of the fall foliage. There is a chance of a storm moving into the area late Tuesday into Wednesday, November 5, so keep an eye on the weather if you’re out foliating next week.
