The fall color in the Mount Charleston area near Las Vegas is looking amazing right now, based on photos we’ve received from professional photographer Cindy van der Velde and social media posts from Lee Canyon Ski Resort.

Cindy hiked the South Loop Trail on October 1 and found Near Peak color after about 30 minutes of hiking. She estimates 50% – 75% of the leaves were changing at that time.
“Current popular trails with fall colors are South Loop, Echo Overlook, Lee Canyon Ski Area, and Foxtail,” she says.

For more information, we recommend Cindy’s blog post on fall color hikes by Mount Charleston.
A week later, Wednesday, October 8, we’re seeing posts from Lee Canyon that show that trees by the ski resort are at peak. The resort’s mountain bike and hiking lifts run through October 19, allowing you to get a bird’s eye view of the fall color.
If you don’t want to miss fall color at Mount Charleston, we recommend you go now! This weekend should be a great time to see fall foliage there.
