Whether the two of you like history or exploring the great outdoors, Nevada has many travel destinations for couples. Here are five places where love is in the air, this Valentine’s Day and beyond.
Enjoy History with Your Honey

Genoa, south of Carson City, is the oldest town in the state. Stroll the streets and admire the historic architecture or the artifacts in the museum (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays in winter) at the Mormon Station State Historic Park, the site of Nevada’s first permanent non-native settlement. Sip a libation in the oldest bar in Nevada. Soak in the hot springs at nearby Wally’s Resort or browse one of several antique shops. Hike or snowshoe up the Genoa Canyon Trail while listening to the stream serenading you as you hike.
Finish the day dining at the Pink House, a historic building with a charming ambience and a lovely porch. Or dine at the 1862 Restaurant and Saloon at Wally’s while overlooking the pool and spring-fed hot tubs. Keep an eye out for the resident deer as you’re driving through town.

Immerse Yourselves in Old West Vibes

Virginia City is the type of place where you expect Old West gunfighters to step out on the streets. Stroll hand in hand along the historic streets as you buy your sweetie a gift in one of the stores. Or enjoy a drink in the Bucket of Blood Saloon after visiting one of the museums or admiring the mining relics around town. Grab a casual bite to eat at one of the restaurants around town or venture down the road to the Gold Hill Hotel, the oldest hotel in Nevada, which serves elegant meals from Thursday – Sunday.

Picnic with a Peacock

One of the most romantic things to do in Las Vegas, Nevada is to have a picnic at Floyd Lamb Park. Sit on the shores of one of the park’s lakes and admire the peacocks strutting around the grass. You might also catch a glimpse of other birds frequently found at the park, including Northern flickers and a variety of ducks and waterfowl. A lot of couples choose to have their engagement or wedding photos taken here.
Play in the Snow

Nevada’s ski resorts including Lee Canyon Ski Resort at Mount Charleston, Diamond Peak Ski Resort at Incline Village, and Mount Rose Ski Tahoe between Incline Village and Reno all offer hours of downhill fun with your sweetie. After a day on the slopes, return to your rented cabin or hotel room. Snuggle up by a warm fireplace and admire the winter wonderland outside your window.
Get Wild at Wildhorse Reservoir

Located about an hour north of Elko, Nevada, Wildhorse Reservoir is for couples who like to spend time exploring Nevada’s wild side. Zip across the snow with your significant other on a snowmobile, go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, or try your luck at ice fishing. After a fun-filled day, return to one of the cabins at Wildhorse State Recreation Area or book lodging in Elko and drive up to Wildhorse Reservoir for the day.

I love this!! <3
Thanks, Cindy. And thanks for all your great photos!
